Most of us want that our dog would fit in better with us and with our family. This is why we need to take our dog to obedience training for dogs. But that could be expensive in our part. While we can make our own training with our dog, we have come up with useful ways in training our dogs to make them part of us.
But training them could be hard and would take a lot of time. Make sure that you have love, passion and respect for dogs. If you have these qualities then training your dog could be fun and easy. This article outlines some useful ways in training your dog:
1. In order for the dog to stay gentle to people and animals, it would be best to bring other variables for his training. Variables like other animal or other people. This in a way will help the dog to get used to it for him to stay calm and be gentler to what he sees often.
Next, you should remember that dogs are assertive and would always look for a leader. There is a need for you to establish that you are the leader and he is the follower. But just a word of caution, you need to do that in a gentle way. You need to deliver command with passion, love and respect. In the event that the dog would challenge you, do not punish him. Do not let him challenge you. That might be very hazardous on your training.
Then, you also need to maintain the discipline in training. This is not only applicable to the dogs but to you as well. It is just normal to commit mistakes on training, but when that happens, you should not punish or hurt the dog. If you will punish them, chances are they will avoid the training and you will not achieve your goal. Instead, it is advisable to reverse your method. Why not reward them in every command accomplished instead of punishing them? In that way, they will be motivated to do well on training.
Another important thing you need to do is to let your dogs socialize. Interacting to people and dogs would be good for your dog so that they will get accustomed and they will get comfortable.
Be responsible with your training. Since you are the owner of the dog, you are responsible with your dog. Even if you will hire someone to do the training, at the end of the training you are still the one holding your dog and therefore you are still his leader. With this, you need to be consistent with him to avoid confusions.
Have a lot of patience. As mentioned, you need this to keep your training well. Remember that dogs do not have the same capacity as humans so you need to extend your patience. After all patience is a virtue and patience will have its reward soon.
7. Think first before putting it to action. According to them you can’t do two things at a time. Well, that is indeed true. Spontaneous actions usually and normally do not work enough. So in training your dogs, you must have carefully planned your actions, before implementing it.
All the above mentioned ways when followed will lead to a fun-filled training. All you need to do is to love, respect and have passion for your dogs so that you will have obedience training for dogs smoothly.
